Instructions Sell Your Software To Us

Currently, we are buying a variety of PC, MAC and Linux based titles. Click here to get an idea of what we are most interested in. The list is not comprehensive, just the most sought after titles. We do not buy:

  • ANY media not in the manufacturers packaging
  • Microsoft software that does not include a Certificate Of Authenticity (COA): Example
  • OEM or Not For Retail (NFR) software: Example
  • Academic software
  • Duplicated software
  • Any used software which prohibits it's resale based on the license agreement. More...
  • Component parts of a larger software suite. An example would be a Microsoft SQL Server from a Microsoft BackOffice Server Suite. (It is only legal to sell the entire suite of software.)

Remember, in most cases, you can not resell software you received with a computer purchase unless you sell the machine with it. You can sell most software bought from a retail outlet. More...

The following is a list of steps you need to follow in order to sell your software:

Retrosoftware

Top 10 Most Wanted:

1) AutoDesk AutoCad
2) Adobe Photoshop
3) Dreamweaver
4) Crystal Reports
5) FileMaker
6) OS/2
7) Quark
8) Intuit Quickbooks
9) ACT!
10) Microsoft Excel
.....More

Step 1: Basic Requirements
At minimum,  your software needs to be scratch free, in it's original jewel case with the original insert. Retail boxes and user manuals get extra! If you have 15 cd's wrapped in a rubber band, we are not interested. Please use common sense, we intend to resell the software (the software needs to be in good shape!).

All printed material, including the installation instructions, license agreement, and any serial numbers or codes required for installation, must come with the software (box not required but worth more if you have it). CD's must be scratch free and be contained in the original jewel case (cover). We do not want cd's in after market packaging.

Step 2: Getting a quote
Read the following instructions and fill in the form below. Please be as specific as possible so we can prepare an accurate quote. Be sure to include the following information when available:

  • Quantity = Number you want to sell.

  • Software manufacturer, title and version number where applicable.

  • Condition: New = factory sealed in mfg's original packaging. Used = anything else.

  • Description = 3 Choices: 1) Retail Box = Complete software including the manuals & the original box. 2) FLAT PACKAGE = Everything you need to use the software, including a manual and covers all combinations between the RETAIL BOX and the JEWEL CASE. 3) JEWEL CASE = Software is a CD-ROM in a plastic box with the instructions on an insert. Example

  • Operating system the software is designed to run on (Windows, Mac, etc.).

  • Registered = I have registered the product. Not Registered = I am the original  owner and have not registered the product. ? = I don't know or care.

  • Part Number: Example

Include part number and/or version number where applicable

Gather up all those dust collectors and send your detailed list to us. You may be surprised (or offended) at what we are willing to pay!

Step 3: Receiving an offer and sending items in.
We will email a quote to the email address provided. If the offer you receive is acceptable to you, the items can then be sent to us via the U.S. mail. We strongly suggest both insurance and tracking for your shipment. We will reimburse you for one half of the standard shipping cost up to Priority Mail level. If you choose to use express mail or an overnight shipping option, we will not split the cost.

Your shipment must contain the following:

  1. All printed materials you have including boxes, manuals, installation instructions, license agreement and software.

  2. A signed release form. (Included with quote.)

  3. Payment instructions.

Step 4: Be patient
Once we receive your shipment you will be notified by email and the software will be checked for completeness. If everything is in order you will then be paid either through PayPal (preferred method) or sent a check. You will choose your payment option on the release form. If everything is not in order, you may receive a revised quote or your software will be returned at your expense. Normally, this transaction takes approximately seven to ten business days so please be patient. Thank you for your participation in our program!
